This little girl is the inspiration for Presence Aesthetics & MedSpa.

She knows what it is like to be the subject of stares and ridicule from disfigurement. She was born in the 1970s with a cavernous hemangioma, which grew to > 2cm on her nose. She had it surgically excised at the age of five, after years of conservative treatment of oral steroids and beta blockade.

Years ago (1950s-1980s), the medical community took a "hands-off" approach, anticipating the hemangiomas to involute spontaneously. Nowadays, infants are being treated with lasers, as early as 5 days old. As of 2022, the pulse dye laser is considered the gold standard for treating vascular birthmarks (ASLMS, 2023).

She grew up to be a strong, compassionate woman in the medical community, determined to help her patients get through some of the biggest challenges of their lives.  While working her way through nursing school as a bedside nursing assistant, she jumped right into critical care once she graduated. She thrived in this environment and later became a nursing leader, as many critical care nurses do. She continued to study and received advanced degrees - a Master's in Healthcare Administration and a doctorate (DNP) from Rush University. Her love for both clinical and business sides of healthcare has led her to Presence Aesthetics & MedSpa.  Over the years, her passion for aesthetic medicine has led her to more advanced training in order to help and empower patients to overcome physical challenges, which can impact their self-confidence and quality of life. When you see her, you will know, as it will be her pleasure to meet and collaborate with you on your aesthetic journey.
